Afro-American Gospel Choir

Story and Photos by Emily Huynh
The Afro-American Gospel Choir is one of the many talented musical groups on UA’s campus. With three-hour weekly rehearsals on Thursday nights, it’s no surprise that the choir performs both locally and statewide. This past fall, the choir performed a unity concert with Auburn University. The choir brings together a very diverse group of people, all with a common interest: a passion for gospel music.
The members of the Afro-American Gospel Choir share their love for music throughout The University of Alabama community. Throughout the year, the choir offers around 3 local concerts a semester free of charge, and welcomes anyone with a love for gospel into the ensemble.
